The Hartland Player’s production of “Annie” takes the stage at the Hartland Music Hall May 12-13 and May 19-20. The Livingston Post is introducing you to members of the cast. For more information on the performance, click here.

Kathy Booker is so excited to be back on stage in Hartland. Her stage experience is extensive, and this has been one of her favorite places to perform. She is thrilled to be portraying Ms. Hannigan. She dedicates her performance to her wonderfully supportive family, all performers as well. She appreciates this opportunity to work with a great cast and crew.

How did you get involved with the Hartland Players and what shows have you been involved with in the past? What are some of your favorite roles from the past, either with the Hartland Players or other groups?
My friend and I were driving by the theater years ago. We saw a sandwich board out front announcing a ‘Nunsense’ show, and heard music and singing. Being long-time community theater people, we flipped out and went inside. We were instantly greeted by the friendliest people, and were asked to audition sometime. We both became involved with Hartland Players, and some of the people we met that night are good friends.

I have been fortunate enough to have a lengthy and rewarding community theater ‘career.” Some of my favorite shows on Hartland’s stage include: “Steel Magnolias,” “Odd Couple” (female version), and “Moon Over Buffalo,” as well as directing “Clue,” “Over The River,” and “Office Hours.” A favorite role from a dinner theater was “Murder at Howard Johnson’s.”

What do you most enjoy about doing shows with the Hartland Players?
I enjoy Hartland Players so much for a few different reasons. The people are all so friendly, and they welcome newcomers. This is one of the least political theaters in which I have worked, meaning everyone has a chance to be cast in a show. They are all so very supportive of the actors and actresses, and promote individual talent. The work is serious, and, at the same time, extremely fun.

What do you most enjoy about doing shows with the Hartland Players?
Being a part of “Annie” is so rewarding because of the wonderful cast and crew. There are a lot of people in the show, and they all show so much pride, commitment, and respect for the production. The kids are so sweet to me!

What can audience members expect when they see the show?

What can audience members expect when they see the show?
I believe the audiences at “Annie” will be very entertained by the number of talented players on stage. The show is an old favorite, but I believe the ensemble cast sets a good tone for success. Audiences will get their money’s worth.
