The Hartland High School Drama Club will be performing the beloved musical “Fiddler on the Roof” Friday through Sunday during the weekends of April 21-23 and April 28-30. The performances will be at the Hartland High School auditorium, 10635 Dunham Road in Hartland. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are available online at www.hartlanddramaclub.org and at the door. Individual tickets purchased in advance are $16 for adults and $14 for students, children, and seniors. Tickets purchased at the door are $18 for adults and $16 for students, children, and seniors. Group rates are also available.
Her natural talent and ease with makeup looks and hairstyles made Ruby a perfect candidate for being a co-lead of Hartland Drama Club’s Hair and Makeup crew. However, this production’s hair and makeup looks offered new challenges and learning experiences for her.
Along with her fellow co-lead and crew members, the Hartland High School sophomore has worked to enhance the visual appeal of each of the characters of “Fiddler on the Roof” by designing natural makeup looks for each character and transforming some of our blonde cast members into brunettes.
We asked Ruby about her experience as a co-lead of the Hair and Makeup crew for this classic musical:

Does this show’s universal message of tradition resonate with you? If so, how and why?
Yes, because it shows the strong value of family and community.
What is your favorite part of the Hair and Makeup Crew?
Being part of a creative team that facilitates learning while working with new makeup and hair techniques.
What is unique about the hair and makeup for “Fiddler on the Roof”?
In this show, we have to experiment with age makeup, which is super exciting and fun. We also get to learn more about wig care and maintenance.
What do you hope audiences will take away from this production?
How the contribution of family and friends impacts the community.
What is your theatre background? Did you get involved as a child, or is it more of a recent pursuit?
I have been involved with theater since I was 6 years old.
What extracurriculars and/or clubs are you involved with in addition to Hartland Drama Club?
My additional extracurricular activities include Varsity Pom and Hartland Wintergaurd.
What will you remember most about your experience with this show?
I will remember the friendships that I have built since this show started.

Everyone should come to see “Fiddler on the Roof” because of the amazing storytelling and because it is a very touching story.
