A 75-year-old Hartland resident who apparently suffered a major medical episode was killed in a crash while driving eastbound on Highland Road at about 9:24 a.m. Monday, April 25.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the man was driving a 2019 Buick Encore eastbound on Highland Road when the vehicle left the roadway, went into the median, and struck several traffic sign posts before coming to rest a few hundred feet east of Pleasant Valley Road.

The driver was reported deceased by medical personnel on the scene.

Neither alcohol or speed appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Livingston County Major Crash Team.

Deputies were assisted on the scene by the Hartland Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
