A 37-year-old Fenton man is in critical condition after being thrown from a Kawasaki dirt bike and hitting two trees.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at about 5:19 p.m. Saturday, June 17, to the site of the accident, which occurred on Allen Road west of Burkhart Road in Howell Township. The man was heading west on Allen Road when he left the roadway to the right, was thrown from the dirt bike, and struck two trees.

He was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing where he is listed in critical condition. The man was not wearing a helmet, and speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, which was assisted on scene by the Howell Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.
