Man — struck in head and stabbed — found dead in bed on top of female suspect

At 11:13 a.m. Sunday, March 9, Livingston County Dispatch received a call about a possible death at a residence in the Woodland Ridge Community on Shady Brook Court in South Lyon. Officers from the Green Oak Township Police Department arrived on scene to find a woman in her bed with an obviously deceased man on top of her.

After the initial investigation, it was determined that the man’s death was a homicide. He had been struck in the head several times with blunt force, and he was stabbed several times in the chest and neck.

The woman was taken into custody and transported to The University of Michigan Medical Center for evaluation. She was released a short time later, and she is lodged in the Livingston County Jail.

According to a release from the Greek Oak Township Police Department, the suspect and the victim had been in a long-term relationship and were living at the residence with their son, who was unharmed in the incident.

The scene was processed by members of the Green Oak Township Evidence Tech Team, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The Greek Oak Township Police Department was assisted by the Green Oak Township Fire Department, Livingston County Ambulance, Livingston County Central Dispatch, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Hamburg Township Police Department, and the Michigan State Police.
