Man jailed after running over girlfriend with truck during argument

A 36-year-old man is lodged at the Livingston County Jail for reckless driving causing serious injury and domestic violence after he ran over his 30-year-old girlfriend with his Dodge Ram truck during an argument.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of Clivedon Road in Marion Township at about 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, for a personal injury accident.

The man told deputies he was arguing verbally with his girlfriend and he attempted to drive away. While he was leaving, the woman was hanging onto the side of the truck when she fell off into the rear tires of the vehicle and was run over.

The victim was transported by Livingston County EMS to Sparrow Hospital for her injuries, from which she is expected to recover.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Livingston County Ambulance, Howell Area Fire Department, and the Michigan State Police.

The incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit and the Detective Bureau.
