A 20-year-old Rochester Hills motorcyclist is dead after an accident at Hickory Hills Blvd. and Highland Road (M-59) in Oceola Township at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, a 39-year-old Howell woman in a 2016 Ford Expedition was turning left onto Hickory Hills Blvd. from Highland Road/M-59 when she turned in front of a westbound 2023 Honda CMX300 motorcycle driven by the Rochester Hills resident.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene by Livingston County EMS. The driver of the Expedition, who was wearing a seat belt, was uninjured.

Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the crash, while speed remains under investigation. The roadway remained closed for three hours for the investigation and clean up.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from Howell Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.

This incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Bureau.
