When is enough enough with you and President Trump? Is there a line in the sand at which Trump will lose your support?
Could it be his sending military into our largest cities? Is this for the process of taking over this country to prepare for no more elections? Do you want to persuade people that cities are dangerous? Do you want to ruin businesses that are thriving? Can we still distinguish military and law enforcement and their purposes?
How about meeting for peace while bombs keep killing the innocent at the request of the person involved in the solution?
Maybe it’s Trump’s plan to change every aspect of what we rely on. It looks like that to me. He’s redecorating the White House to mirror Mar-a-Lago, while ignoring traditions. The White House is not the President’s home; it is the People’s House. It’s temporary for every inhabitant.
It’s an easy question: Where is the line, because it continues to be pushed.
Trump is kidnapping people off the streets; running them down in the fields they are working; snatching women and children as they cry. These people are not criminals. They are willing to do hard work; they are talented and strong.
Where is the line?
Tell me, what can happen where you finally say enough is enough?
Do you want civil war? Are we at a place where people have to make decisions about who to hide from an oppressive government? Will I have the courage deep in my soul to do what is right? Is this where we are going? This is the stuff in Anne Frank’s diary.
I am probably safe. White, Anglo-Saxon Protestants are likely safe, too, as are my children and grandchildren. But who really knows? If one group can come after another, things may flip.
What I know for sure is that we are all connected. When some of us hurt, eventually others will, too. God loves diversity. You only need to observe nature to know that. And every one of us is a beloved child of God. We are all equal in the eyes of God. Someday we will understand why there is different suffering in this fallen world.
So, back to my original question: In rooms of dedicated Republicans, is there a line in the sand where you say “stop”? There have been so many opportunities to turn the Republican party around, and at every decision, it refuses. The party of law and order has become the party leading us all away from democracy.
I’m hoping there is a line where your answer is “no more.”
