The military action in Venezuela is a hauntingly familiar script. As a supportive citizen who stands with our veteran community, I am deeply concerned by this administration’s decision to bypass Congress and risk American lives in another regime-change conflict.
We’ve seen how “quick strikes” turn into decades of “forever wars.” While our local families are dealing with rising costs of living and our veterans are still struggling to get the care they earned, we are funneling billions into an unauthorized escalation.
Our members of Congress must remember that the Constitution gives the power to declare war to Congress, not the White House. We cannot continue to prioritize reckless intervention over the needs of our own neighbors and service members. It is time for Congress to reclaim its authority and put an end to this cycle.
