The United States is under attack.

It is safe to say that our form of government as under significant attack — from the outside and from within. In our history of almost 250 years, attacks from without have been rebuffed at great cost. Today, however, we are experiencing attacks from within, most notably from President Donald J. Trump himself, along with a cadre of officials he appointed, all of whom have demonstrated, by their words and/or actions designed to implode the Administrative State that they no longer support the Rule of Law.

Rule of law: “The mechanism, process, institution, practice, or norm that supports the equality of all citizens before the law, secures a non-arbitrary form of government, and more generally prevents the arbitrary use of power.”

Rule of law is a pillar of our democracy.

I am fearful of internal attacks when judges are reporting physical violence against themselves and/or their families. I’m even more fearful when I hear reports that a candidate for a lifetime appointment is heard to say about a disfavored court ruling, “just F@$% the ruling.”  Such was said by Emil Bove, newly confirmed to the Third U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Bove is a clear demonstration of the attack from within, placed there by President Trump. In my view, Trump has told us, time and again, that he does not support the rule of law, and by extension, he does not support the Constitution, which he took an oath to protect.
