On Good Friday, downtown Brighton became the setting for a moving public ceremony that connected faith to compassion and justice.
Led by the Rev. Jeanne Hansknecht and members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Stations of the Cross were walked around the Mill Pond, not only honoring the path of Christ but also lifting up the journey of immigrants in our world today.
At each station, reflections drew powerful connections between Christ’s suffering and the hardships faced by migrant families — including displacement, loss, and courage in the face of fear.
To hear these words spoken aloud in the heart of our town was a meaningful reminder that faith is not confined to the walls of a sanctuary. It was a public act of love, lament, and witness.
Thank you to Rev. Jeanne and the St. Paul’s community for bringing this sacred journey into the streets of Brighton.
