LETTER: Our health care system is at risk

Sharing is caring!

Digging into the backgrounds of the eight new members HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. chose for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices after he dismissed the previous panel, NBC’s Aria Bendix and colleagues found that they lack expertise and hold views more skeptical of vaccines.
Meanwhile, all 17 members of the immunization advisory committee fired by Kennedy spoke out in a Journal of the American Medical Association editorial.

They warned that the dismissals and other changes “may roll back the achievements of US immunization policy, impact people’s access to lifesaving vaccines, and ultimately put US families at risk of dangerous and preventable illnesses.”

We will all feel the impact.

Who is responsible for Kennedy leading the country to the demise of the U.S. Health Care System?

The upcoming demise of our U.S. health care system is the sole responsibility of the U.S. Senate Republican majority and President Donald Trump’s failure us by putting Kennedy’s name forward. The Senate confirmed Kennedy by a vote of 52 to 48 to lead the department responsible for public health. Confirmation vote was passed 52-48 by a Republican majority vs. Democratic minority including two independents.

I am losing respect for senators who allowed Kennedy to be confirmed. Let’s remember this at the next election.
