What we are going through as a nation is incredibly painful and frightening, especially since it has become glaringly clear that the so-called “guardrails” are failing us on a massive scale.
It has become more than obvious that many of our elected officials, along with our previously respected institutions, will NOT unite and step up to end the nightmare that we as everyday people are being forced to endure every single day.
Our previously peaceful lives are now filled with fear, disgust, anger, depression, insomnia, and ruined relationships with friends and family. Minnesota made it obvious that the only way to fight this regime is for us — mothers, grandmothers, husbands, brothers, young adults, veterans, our cherished immigrants, …EVERYONE! — to unite and do it ourselves.
We can not give up or give in. We must keep up the pressure on those we elect to represent us (and who we’ve entrusted with our futures) and demand better from them. And after this is all over, we need to put into place an improved version of democracy that will make it so that we NEVER have to endure this kind of hell again.
