Lake Trust Credit Union has been named to Forbes’ 2025 America’s Best-in-State Credit Unions list. The Brighton-headquartered credit union came in at No. 7 for Michigan.

The 2025 edition of America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions is comprised of 228 financial institutions that have excelled in meeting the unique needs and expectations of their local communities and putting their members first. As a purpose-driven credit union, Lake Trust is committed to empowering Michigan communities and supporting members in their financial wellbeing journey.
In partnership with Statista, this year’s honorees were chosen based on two main data sources: an independent survey of approximately 26,000 Americans and a sentiment analysis of publicly available reviews collected for each credit union, in each state. As part of the survey, participants were asked to evaluate credit unions across several key criteria categories such as trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, customer services and financial advice.
