LACASA’s Garden Tour weekend returns July 10-11

Sharing is caring!

Livingston County will be full of blooms and blossoms during LACASA Center’s 22nd Annual Garden Tour Weekend fundraiser set for Saturday and Sunday, July 10-11, 2021.

This year’s charity event features 10 one-of-a-kind gardens and two specialty stops, giving attendees a wide variety of traditional and eclectic gardening experiences. Guests are invited to roam the grounds at each garden and chat with homeowners about gardening tips.

Specialty Growers and the LACASA Collection — LACASA’s charity resale boutique — are the two non-traditional locations on the garden tour. Guests will receive special shopping discounts at each stop.

To celebrate LACASA’s 40th anniversary, a VIP Lunch & Learn event is being offered twice throughout the weekend. VIP guests will enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the gardens while learning gardening tips from specialists and hearing from LACASA’s President and CEO, Bobette Schrandt.

The VIP Lunch & Learn experience will be held both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $40 and include a garden tour ticket and catered lunch. Tickets must be purchased in advance online and seating is limited.

Additional offerings along the tour include the Blooming Raffle, Annual Quilt Raffle, Photo Safari Contest, and the Stargazer Scavenger Hunt. Tickets for each raffle can be purchased in advance at LACASA Collection or at a specified garden on tour days.

The scavenger hunt offers sleuthing guests some fun along the way while they search for garden clues. Winners are entered into a drawing for a chance to win a birdhouse handcrafted by Linda Bader of Bader Acres in Howell.

The photo safari is an opportunity for guests to snap a picture of themselves in a unique or beautiful landscape and post it on social media for a chance to win a Bordine’s Nursery gift card.

Garden Tour Weekend tickets are $20 in advance at area business outlets or online, and $25 at garden entrances. Tour hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. All proceeds benefit abused children and victims of interpersonal violence from the community.

Garden Tour Weekend is a fundraising event that includes a year of advance planning and organization. The Garden Tour Committee begins selecting gardens in August for the following year’s tour. More than 120 volunteers help coordinate the tour and staff each garden throughout the weekend.
