Get ready to shine at prom! LACASA is excited to announce the return of Cinderella’s Closet, a pop-up prom boutique offering gently-used formalwear at affordable prices.

From March 6-9, high school students can shop for $25 gowns, dresses, and suits, and save big on shoes and accessories. All proceeds from Cinderella’s Closet directly benefit LACASA’s vital programs and services for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual violence. The shopping experience also offers students empowering messages, advice for making healthy decisions, and supportive adults.

“In a time of rising costs, Cinderella’s Closet provides a budget-friendly opportunity for students to find the perfect prom attire to look and feel their best while supporting a crucial cause,” said LACASA President and CEO Bobette Schrandt. “We are grateful to the community for its continued support, and for helping provide students with a sustainable, affordable option that does good for the community and reduces textile waste.”

Those interested in donating formal wear can contact Snedicor’s Green Earth Cleaners. Snedicor’s provides donation pickups and cleaning. Donations can also be dropped off at the LACASA Collection charity resale boutique during regular hours.

Cinderella’s Closet is for high school students only, and shoppers are required to show a student ID. A limited number of formal wear scholarships are available by speaking with the staff or volunteers on site.

Thanks to their generous sponsorship, the pop-up boutique will be held at Tanger Outlets Howell, 1475 N. Burkhart Road, in the storefront next to Hot Topic. As a bonus, shoppers will receive a coupon for 25% off shoes and accessories to complete their look at LACASA Collection charity resale boutique, located just a short walk away, next to the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Outlet store.

Volunteers are still needed to set up, staff, and take down the pop-up boutique. Those interested should email Volunteering@lacasacenter.org.
