Get ready to step back in time to a bygone era of glitz and glamour at the first annual LACASA Gala, a festive evening of 1920s-themed fun to benefit LACASA Center, Friday, Oct. 11, at Crystal Gardens in Howell. All proceeds from the event will benefit LACASA Center, a local nonprofit providing critical services to victims of interpersonal violence.

The theme of this inaugural gala, presented by Judy and Bert Herzog and Executive Wealth Management, is “Bourbon, Bowties & Boas,” a nod to the folly and fantasy of the Roaring ‘20s. LACASA President & CEO Bobette Schrandt says while the theme is joyful and fun, there is also deeper symbolism at play.

“At LACASA we are also roaring into a new era, as we celebrate the ongoing success of our capital campaign and the opening of our Home for Good on Tooley Road in Howell,” Schrandt said. “The move to our state-of-the-art facility truly represents a new chapter in the more than 40-year history of our organization, as we have more than doubled the capacity of our shelter and greatly expanded the ability of all our programs, housed under one roof, to better serve victims of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual violence.”

Along with a trip back in time, gala-goers can expect an evening of delightful party experiences including dinner and drinks, signature cocktails, live music and dancing from the Chateau band, both a silent and live auction, decade-appropriate photo-ops, games, and so much more.

Attendees will also hear a moving testimonial from a former LACASA client and survivor of sexual violence, and the winners of LACASA’s Volunteer of the Year, Business Partner of the Year, and Youth Advocate of the Year awards will be announced.

Attendees can also try their luck at the Speakeasy Sparkle Diamond Raffle, featuring a 1-in-100 chance to win a diamond valued at $6,000, donated by Cooper & Binkley Jewelers. Watch as ice cubes placed inside numbered glasses begin to melt, revealing a sparkling surprise for one lucky ticket holder. Diamond raffle tickets are $100 each and available while supplies last, as only 100 will be sold.

Guests are encouraged, but not require, to dress in 1920s attire.

LACASA Gala tickets are $150 each and $1,500 for a table of ten. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
