It was a tradition that started 15 years ago: the Kiwanis Club of Brighton installed American flags on 13 light poles; to continue the tradition, they expanded Flags on Main Street with the purchase of 34 American flags.

With the completion of Brighton’s Main Street project, and working with the City of Brighton and the DPW, the flags were installed just in time for the July 4th Celebration and Parade downtown. The flags will remain up until Veterans Day. In the future they will be fly from Memorial Day till Veterans Day.

The Brighton Kiwanis is celebrating 75 years of community service to the Brighton area. The group meets from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at Fave’s Coffee in the Well Church, 2376 Genoa Business Park Drive in Brighton. Guests are always welcome.
