Concerts at the Lafontaine Family Amphitheater in downtown Milford are back on regular schedule after major renovations at Central Park delayed the series last summer. This season kicks off with the Killer Flamingos on June 19 and wraps up August 21.

As in 2024, Brighton-based 2 Stones Events – the husband-wife promoter team of Cal and Whitney Stone – has been retained by Milford Township to hire the bands, handle the sound, and help get the word out.

“Last year, we changed it up quite a bit from the acts that traditionally played here,” said Cal Stone, “and the response seemed very positive. Locals will recognize Randy Brock and Itchycoo Park, but the other seven concerts will probably be a nice surprise for most of the folks who attend these shows.”

For more than 23 years, Stone has booked major concerts featuring international artists (Wynton Marsalis, George Winston, Marty Stuart, Ramsey Lewis), festivals and fairs (South Lyon Live! @ Pumpkinfest, Michigan State Fair, Cleary University’s Summerfest), and live music for countless local bars, restaurants, hotels, corporate parties, etc.

“We like to mix it up,” said Whitey Stone. “Yes, ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ is a great song by Journey, but do you want to hear it covered every single week? There is so much talent in southeast Michigan that deserves to be heard, and there’s nothing better than unleashing a great act that surprises and blows people away. We rarely book a band that we haven’t personally seen perform live. All the bands we’ve lined up for Milford this summer bring it big time.”

THE TALENT

2 Stones Events has lined up another fresh and impressive series that features a wide variety of acts for the 7-9 p.m. concerts:

Killer Flamingos (June 19) – your favorite dance hits
Vinyl Rockit (June 26) – hits from Blondie to Wild Cherry
REVIVAL (July 3) – A Tribute to the Allman Brothers Band
Planet D Nonet (July 10) – swing and jump blues
Kari Holmes (July 17) – country/pop singer-songwriter
Randy Brock Group (July 24) – guitar-based rockin’ blues
Jimmie Bones & The Snakebit Wanderers (July 31) – electrifying roots rock led by Kid Rock’s keyboardist
The Social Bandits (Aug. 14) – Top 40 hits through the greatest decades of music
Itchycoo Park (Aug. 21) —  energized ‘60s and ‘70s musical tribute

Joe Heslip and his crew at Heslip Audio will handle the sound support, as they do for most major events produced by 2 Stones Events.

These free family concerts in downtown’s Central Park are hosted by Milford Township Parks and Recreation Commission with support from the Milford DDA and the Village of Milford.

PARKING, FOOD & DOGS

As in previous seasons of the concert series, volunteer parking attendants will come from two organizations – Huron Valley Schools Marching Band (June 19; July 3; July 17; July 31; Aug. 21) and the Milford Historical Society (June 26; July 10; July 24; Aug. 14).

A donation of $5 is suggested for those who use the park’s lots for the concerts with all the donated funds going towards those respective organizations.

Parking attendants will be stationed at the park entrance on Main Street to direct drivers. The park’s upper lot will be reserved for handicap parking only – once that lot is full, no more vehicles will be allowed up there.

The small Liberty Street parking lot will again be reserved only for volunteers, food vendors, musicians, and the sound company.

The south side of Liberty Street will again be reserved for law enforcement and emergency vehicles. The north side of Liberty may be used for parking golf carts by those who use that method of transportation to the concerts.

Food vendors will again include volunteers from the Milford Senior Center and the Knights of Columbus selling ice cream from a small trailer and food in a large canopy, respectively, to raise funds for their organizations.

Lastly, but certainly not least, please leave your pooch at home if you plan on coming to the concerts as the Milford Police will once again be enforcing the park’s “no dogs” rule, according to Sgt. Dan Caldwell.
