Brandon Inge, a fan-favorite Detroit Tigers catcher and utility player for 12 seasons, is set to join the coaching staff of Brighton High School baseball.

Inge, 47, played 13 seasons in the major leagues, and for the Tigers from 2001-2012. He batted .287 during the 2004 season with the Tigers, and banged out 27 home runs in 2006 and 2009.

Since his major league days, Inge was a trainer at the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Green Oak Township, and was named volunteer assistant coach for the 2021 Michigan Wolverines baseball team.
