Brian Ignatowski

Brian Ignatowski, who ran a tight race against Rep. Jennifer Conlin (D-Ann Arbor) in the 48th House District during the 2024 election cycle, recently filed as a Republican candidate for the district in 2026.

“We need common-sense representation in Lansing,” Ignatowski said in a press release. “I seek to unify our district, which means prioritizing both sides of the aisle. There is so much work to be done. I am focused on the issues that matter most: fiscal responsibility, public safety, education reform, and lowering Michigan insurance costs, among others.”

Ignatowski, of Pinckney, criticized Conlin for not getting more legislation passed during the Democratic trifecta.

“When her party was in the majority, Jennifer Conlin should have been able to pass many bills that would help Michiganders,” he said. “Instead, she played political games while hard-working people struggle through one of the toughest economies in Michigan’s history.”

Conlin won the 48th House District by 4.43 points in 2024.
