Over the past 16 years, Howell’s Senior Survivor has raised more than $1.2 million for various non-profit organizations, and it’s gearing up for another exciting year.

The Howell community is invited to join this year’s Howell High School Senior Survivors to kick off the annual fundraising competition during the Senior Survivor Carnival from 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 19, in the Howell High School Field House.

The carnival will feature games, entertainment, arts and crafts, raffles, inflatables, and more. Admission is $10 for ages 3-18, and adults and children age 2 and under are free. An adult must accompany students in eighth grade or below. All funds raised will support the overall fundraising goal of Senior Survivor.

The carnival will launch Howell High School and the community into Senior Survivor week, which will begin on Sunday, April 21, when 15 members of the Class of 2024 arrive at school intending to be the ultimate survivor. Each day, the Senior Survivors will fundraise during the day and compete in immunity and reward challenges at night. The two students who turn in the least money will be eliminated and sent home at the end of the school day. The student who turns in the most money on the last day of the competition will be named the winner of Senior Survivor.

This year, Senior Survivor is supporting Community Catalysts. Community Catalysts is a Howell-based non-profit organization that provides quality and affordable housing and support services that create communities for seniors, veterans and homeless individuals to thrive. By working with other financial institutions, developers and community partners, Community Catalysts funds and develops affordable housing renovations, new builds and other projects that provide individuals with access to affordable housing and support services they need.

This year’s Senior Survivors are Noah Deland (Team Noah’s Ark), Kendall Derocher (Team Kenobi), Lily Sidorski (Team Lil Money), Nick Peters (Team Slick Nick), Ben Scheidler (Team Ben Ten), Stella Shinn (Team Destructshinn), Natalie Chaplin (Team Happy Chappy), Noah Walter (Team Swoleter), Harrison Hamman (Team Harri-Bo), Myla Limbers (Team Shiver Me Limbers), Jackson Vohwinkle (Team Captain Jack), Joe Taito (Team Top Gun Taito), Olivia Glenfield (Team Go-Field), Jonathan Sexton (Team Papa Jon), and Ethan Keider (Team Allen Keider). A fifth-grade Junior Survivor, an eighth-grade Middle School Survivor and a Staff Survivor will support each Senior Survivor.
