Howell Public Arts Initiative Contest seeking entries

Reproductions of winning entries from a new art competition will be on display on the walls and sidewalks of Howell this summer.

The competition is open to artists of all ages and experience, who are invited to submit original two dimensional reproducible selections, along with a $25 entry fee, before May 1.

Winners will be selected from seven different categories, including a category for students K-12 and one for Livingston County artists. A cash prize will be awarded for best of show.

In August, the winning artwork will be auctioned off at the Howell MelonBall.

The contest is hosted by the City of Howell’s Downtown Development Authority Design Committee.

The categories are:

1. Photographs of Livingston County
2. Masterpiece Inspired Art
3. Open Art for students K-12
4. Open Art for Livingston County Artists Only
5. Open Art
6. Landscapes/Seascapes
7. People
