Howell man shot, killed at Oakland County restaurant

Francesk Shkambi, 44, of Howell, was shot and killed at the Prime 7 restaurant on Cooley Lake Road in Commerce Township on Sunday, Nov. 16. Shkambi is reported to have been the manager of the restaurant.

According to a release from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the restaurant at 9:38 p.m. When deputies arrived, Shkambi was lying on the patio outside the restaurant; the deputes began life saving measures. Commerce Township Fire Department paramedics took over treatment and transported Shkambi to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Resources from the Sheriff’s Office, including the Special Investigation Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Team, were immediately activated.

A 65-year-old Farmington Hills man turned himself in about 20 minutes after the shooting, The Fugitive Apprehension Team took custody of the suspect without incident. Considered a suspect in the case, he is being held at the Oakland County Jail. Detectives recovered the weapon they believe was used in the shooting, a 9 mm handgun, which they say was stolen.
