There’s this about the postseason: No matter how thrilling, how dramatic the victory, there’s another game around the corner, ready or not.
That’s how it is for the Howell girls basketball team, which begins play tonight in a Division 1 regional tournament at Milford.
The Highlanders (17-7) take on Lakeland (20-4) in the opening game of a doubleheader today at Milford High School in a game that will be broadcast on The Livingstopn Post at 5:20 p.m. Click here for the link.
Both teams are coming off dramatic district championship wins over rivals on Friday. Howell edged Hartland in overtime, 43-42, while Lakeland beat Milford 24-23.
Both teams won league titles this season. Howell won the KLAA West, while Lakeland tied South Lyon East for first in the Lakes Valley Conference. Howell and Lakeland were in the Kensington Valley Conference and the KLAA for decades until te formation 0f the LVC in 2017.

Grand Blanc takes on Clarkston in the second game of the doubleheader. Tonight’s winners will play for the regional title at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
