For Howell’s girls basketball team, this hasn’t been the easiest of weeks, schedule-wise.

The Highlanders, who lost at No. 1-ranked Hartland on Tuesday, take on an undefeated Brighton team tonight that’s 8-0 and ranked No. 8 in this week’s AP girls basketball poll.

But Howell coach Tim Olszewski saw the two days between games as an opportunity.

“It gives us a couple of days to work on some things and get back together as a team and move forward from this,” he said Tuesday.

The game will be broadcast on The Livingston Post. Click here for a link.

The Bulldogs, like Hartland, feature multiple weapons on offense and a dominant center in 6-0 Sophie Dziekan, who has signed with Bowling Green.

Howell will need to have more balanced scoring than against Hartland, when Maeve St. John was the only Highlander in double figures. Meagan Tucker and Kylee Wendel, two more Howell scorers, were held to five points or less apiece on Tuesday.

A good crowd is expected on what is being called Camo Night at the Howell gym.
