The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Lake Trust Credit Union, is launching the Livingston ATHENA Chapter, an initiative dedicated to fostering enlightened, holistic, and inclusive leadership among women.

“Lake Trust has built strong connections in Livingston County and has proudly partnered with local organizations, including the Howell Chamber, on initiatives that support programs and initiatives that uplift our friends and neighbors,” said Brandalynn Winchester-Middlebrook of Lake Trust. “The ATHENA program will empower personal and professional growth for women in the area and play an important role in creating a stronger, more vibrant community where everyone thrives.”

As part of this initiative, the chamber’s Sparkle & Strive Women’s Leadership Event will be incorporated under the Athena International framework. ATHENA Leadership champions self-reflection, personal growth, and meaningful impact, going beyond traditional management training. Rooted in ATHENA’s Eight Principles of Enlightened Leadership — emphasizing authenticity, collaboration, courage, and community impact — this evolution is designed to empower women to lead with strength and purpose. Through this initiative, local women will gain access to leadership training, mentorship opportunities, and inspiring events that cultivate confidence and success in both their professional and personal lives.

“We are honored to partner with Lake Trust Credit Union in this endeavor,” said Janelle Smith, President of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce. “Its commitment to strengthening community by focusing on impact and optimism aligns perfectly with ATHENA’s mission to transform workplace culture and leadership narratives. Together, we are creating lasting, positive change.”

The Sparkle & Strive Women’s Leadership Event, now guided by ATHENA’s principles, will continue to serve as a premier networking and empowerment platform for women leaders. Attendees will enjoy dynamic keynote speakers, empowering conversations, and invaluable opportunities to connect with other women who are shaping the future of leadership.

Additionally, the Livingston ATHENA Chapter is an ATHENA Awards Community, recognizing outstanding women leaders through the prestigious ATHENA Leadership Award Program. Since its inception in 1982, the program has honored over 7,000 women leaders from hundreds of cities and eight countries. Nominations for this esteemed recognition will open in late spring, with the recipient announced at the ATHENA Leadership Award event in October.
