Meghan Schultz

Meghan Schultz of Pinckney has been awarded a prestigious Michigan Press Association Foundation scholarship.

In announcing the scholarships, the Michigan Press Association Foundation said of Schultz that “connecting with readers fosters her passion for knowing an audience well in order to honor them through her work. She is seeking to create technically excellent and beautiful stories that give something back to their audience.”

Schultz, daughter of Doug and Heather Schultz of Pinckney, attends Hillsdale College, where she is an editor at the Collegian student paper. She will graduate this spring with a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature.

Since 1990, the Michigan Press Association Foundation has awarded scholarships to journalism students at public and private universities in Michigan. Each year, five student journalists have the opportunity to receive a $2,000 scholarships as they continue to pursue careers in journalism.
