A ticket purchased at the Hartland Kroger, located at 10059 W. Highland Road (M-59), won the runner-up prize of $1 million in the Christmas Eve Powerball drawing.
The winner of the $1 million prize should contact the Michigan Lottery’s Player Relations division at (844) 917-6325 to claim their prize. Powerball prizes must be claimed within one year from the date of the drawing. Under Michigan law, the identity of winners of multi-state games like Powerball must be made public.
The ticket sold at the Hartland Kroger matched the five white balls drawn — 04, 25, 31, 52, and 59 — but did not match the Powerball number, which was 19. One ticket sold in Arkansas matched all the numbers and won a $1.82 billion jackpot.
This is the second time a Powerball jackpot has been won on Christmas Eve. The last time Powerball had a jackpot winner on Christmas Eve was in 2011, when one ticket bought in Maryland won a $128.8 million jackpot.
Wednesday night’s jackpot ranks as the fourth largest jackpot in Powerball and U.S. Lottery history.
