Hartland, Brighton met in baseball rematch — with broadcast link

Their hopes of a league title have mostly disappeared, but there’s still plenty to play for when Hartland and Brighton meet this afternoon in a KLAA baseball matchup at Brighton.

The twi longtime rivals will meet at 4:30 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast by The Livingston Post. Click here for the link.

Hartland is 8-4 overall, having won its last sis games, and sits in second place in the KLAA West, a half-game ahead of Salem and a game ahead of Brighton, Canton and Howell, Northville, 7-0 in the division, can all but wrap up the division title with a win today.

It’s the second game of a home-and-home for the teams.

Hartland won the first game on Monday, 3-2, on Gavin Nash’s complete-game effort, a game that was won on a sacrifice fly  by Sam Cay in the bottom of the fourth.

Nash held the heavy-hitting Bulldogs, who are hitting .335 as a team, to just six hits.

The Eagles, who are batting just .249 as a team, made the most of their six hits.
