Sharing is caring!

The first-ever adaptive hike at Fillmore County Park, 7075 McClements Road in Brighton, is set for 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, and is designed to be inclusive for all skill levels and abilities.

The event is the result of a partnership between the Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority and UMAISE (University of Michigan Adaptive and Inclusive Sports Experience), which will be providing all-terrain GRIT wheelchairs — pediatric and adult — for those who need them.

There is no cost for the event, and people of all ages and abilities are invited to particpate, but registration is required. Anyone needing a GRIT Chair should be sure to indicate that online so there are enough available at the event.
