Gregory man dies after his car crashes into tree in Iosco Township

A 53-year-old Gregory man died after he lost control of the car he was driving and hit a tree on Bradley Road, south of Iosco Road in Iosco Township at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2.

Deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the man was southbound on Bradley Road when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line, went off the roadway to the left and struck a large tree. The damage to the vehicle was severe and the driver was trapped in the vehicle.

The Fowlerville Fire Department extricated the driver and he was transported to Sparrow Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver was wearing his safety belt at the time of the crash and alcohol is not suspected.

The roadway was closed for approximately 2 hours for investigation and cleanup.

This crash remains under investigation by the Livingston County Major Crash Team.

Deputies were assisted on scene  by the Fowlerville Fire Department and Livingston County Ambulance.
