Sharing is caring!

Great Start Livingston is offering a free 4-week parenting workshop facilitated by MSU-Extension for Livingston County families. The BEES workshop (Building Early Emotional Skills), is designed for caregivers of children prenatal through age 3.

The program has 4 sessions that teach how young children develop social emotional skills and also helps give parents tools to deal with the stress of caring for children while developing strong social emotional skills. Free dinner and childcare are available to those who register.

The sessions are as follows:
• Week 1, Sept. 28: Parental temperament and stress — Your child’s temperament and temperament “fit”
• Week 2, Oct. 5:  Your triggers and how to manage them — Being reflective about children’s feelings and stress
• Week 3, Oct. 19: Emotion coaching — Reducing biting, conflict and frustration
• Week 4, Oct. 26: Handling tantrums — Encouragement and building a solid foundation for tomorrow

The workshop will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Livingston Educational Service Agency, 1425 W. Grand River Ave., Howell, MI 48843.

Interested families can register for the workshop here: https://bit.ly/23BEESworkshop. Participants who attend will receive a $5 gas gift card each week, one per family.
