Excel Employment Options recently received a $11,100 grant from the Edward and June Kellogg Family Foundation to help fund the Kellogg Independent Living Center, a mock apartment in our center designed to provide independent living skill instruction to individuals on the autism spectrum.
Excel’s Autism Service and Supports Center provides all-inclusive services which strive to meet the full circle of needs for each individual and their family. The center offers social and behavioral support therapy and life skills training for children and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as a parent support group, employment resources and job club for those seeking employment, and social/recreational activities. Services for younger children are provided as well.
Early intervention is critical to the long-term success for many of the people on the autism spectrum. Quality services result in reduced social and behavior barriers, for individuals on the spectrum, increased independence and living skills, improved employment outcomes, increased community connections and resources, reduced community and employment barriers, and expanded social networks.
