Governor reappoints Howell woman to Health Information Technology Commission

Renee Smiddy

Renee Smiddy, of Howell, has been reappointed to the Health Information Technology Commission by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Smiddy is the senior director of finance policy for the Michigan Health and Hospital Association. She previously worked as a senior performance measurement analyst for Henry Ford Health System. She holds a bachelor of arts from Michigan State University in international relations and business management, along with a master of science degree in business analytics from the University of Michigan.
Smiddy is reappointed to represent the general public, for a term commencing Sept. 29, 2023, and expiring Aug. 3, 2027.

The Michigan Health Information Technology Commission’s mission is to facilitate and promote the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of an interoperable health care information infrastructure in Michigan.

This appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
