Glider crashes in Unadilla Township field

A glider crashed into a Unadilla Township field at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 21.

According to news reports, the glider — with a man and a teenage boy on board — crashed about a half mile from Richmond Field, near Doyle and Unadilla roads. The Unadilla Township Police and Fire departments responded to the scene, along with other agencies.

The two people on board were reported to have been taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. There is no information as to the extent of their injuries at this time. There were no injuries on the ground, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
