T.J. Sabula, the worker suspended for calling President Donald Trump a “pedophile protector” (and to whom Trump gave the middle finger) during Trump’s visit to the Ford Rouge plant Tuesday, has asked to pause donations to the two GoFundMe pages established to raise money for him.
As of Wednesday evening, the GoFundMe pages raised nearly $811,000 from 35,000 donations, making the average donation at $23.
“We greatly appreciate the outpouring of support!,” Sabula wrote in a comment on the GoFundMe page entitled “TJ Sabula is a patriot!!”
“At this time we are closing donations to this campaign and encourage you to look for other causes and organizations to support,” Sabula wrote. “We appreciate every single donation, comment, share, and sign of support!”
The first fundraiser collected $329,885 in 13,400 donations; the second fundraiser collected $480,930 in 21,500 donations.
In response to Sabula’s heckling, Trump, captured in a cell phone video, says “f*** you,” and “you’re fired.” Ford suspended Sabula without pay.
