“Our fundraising at Applebee’s will go directly toward our veterinary care for the foxes, preventatives for the upcoming year, and upgrading enclosures,” Patton said. “We hope to bring more awareness to the community about our mission and inspire a love for foxes.”

Patton said the domestication of foxes has been up for debate for many years. Oftentimes, she said, people try to take in foxes and treat them like their other household pets. While foxes do have quite the habit of being cute and sometimes acting like dogs or cats, they are wild animals and will remain wild for many more years.
“At Foxes Journey Sanctuary, we are here to educate others on the proper care of foxes, while creating a comfortable environment for them to thrive,” she said.
