Senior Airman Caleb L. Jenkins of Fowlerville was honored as the State Airman of the Year during the annual Pass in Review ceremony at Camp Grayling. He was chosen out of a pool of over 2,000 airmen from across the state.

Gov. Rick Snyder and the Adjutant General of Michigan Major General Gregory Vadnais presented Jenkins with the award, given in part due to his service in the Middle East as an Intel Analyst supporting Operations Inherent Resolve, Resolute Support, and Restoring Hope.

Jenkins, who was homeschooled, graduated with his diploma in 2013; he went on to graduate summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2017, majoring in political science and minoring in military science and leadership.

His parents, Gerry and Jill Jenkins, are lifelong Fowlerville residents.
