Sharing is caring!

The Fowlerville Community Schools Board of Education voted unanimously tonight to approve a plan that allows for face-to-face learning in the fall. Parents will have the option of choosing either in-person learning or all distance learning for their students. The face-to-face plan will have students attending in-person school four days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). Wednesdays will be a remote-learning day.

The first day of school will be Sept. 2.

The board took input last week and this week on the plan – both for and against. A number of people – most of whom identified themselves as Fowlerville teachers – encouraged the board to adopt an all-distance-learning plan. A number of others – primarily parents – said that for a number of reasons, it’s vital to offer in-person learning.
