“Football for Girls,” the weekly podcast aimed at increasing football literacy among female fans, has just released an exclusive interview with local Howell football head coach Brian Lewis.
In the interview, Coach Lewis shares his insights on the importance of high school football, the role of a coach on and off the field, and the differences between high school football and NCAA or NFL football.
Lewis also speaks about the emotional aspect of football.
“I’ve seen guys in those moments before a game before a football game crying, just bawling because of everything they put into that moment,” Lewis said. “And then you’re in that stadium, the energy that you’re feeling, and then you have to control it and harness it. It’s just an overflow of emotion. And it’s just amazing. I love it.”

The “Football for Girls” podcast, launched by the Curtin sisters — Bailey, Ashley and Grace— has been helping female fans understand the fundamentals of football and become more conversant in the week-to-week changes around the game.
