Livingston County film lovers can join over 100,000 film enthusiasts across six continents who will gather in over 300 cinemas, universities, museums, libraries, and art centers to view to choose the 10 short films (18 minutes and under), that will be finalists in the Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival Sept/ 22 – Oct. 2. Manhattan Short is the ultimate audience award that salutes the creative talents of both directors behind the camera and actors in front of it.

The Top 10 Manhattan Short Finalist Films will be screened at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25; 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29; or 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. Viewers will become instant film critics as they are handed a ballot upon entry that allows them to vote for the Best Film and Best Actor; at the end of the program, patrons will be able to vote on which film they enjoyed most. The same films will be shown at each session, allowing patrons three opportunities to attend the showing that fits into their schedule.

By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.

The 10 short films presented have one common theme: how people deal with adversity in its various forms. The finalists hail from eight countries, with films from Scotland, Czech & Slovakia, Spain, Australia, Finland and Lebanon, alongside two films each from France and USA. These Final 10 Films represent the best short films from among 870 submissions from 70 countries received by Manhattan Short for 2022.

The winner will be announced at 10 a.m. EST Monday, Oct. 3, at ManhattanShort.com .
