Fenton man arraigned on charges including 2nd-degree murder after Tyrone Township crash

Robert Albert, 36, of Fenton, was arraigned April 10, 2023, on charges that include one count of second-degree murder stemming from a Sept. 9, 2022, crash at the intersection of Denton Hill Road and Denton Creek Drive in Tyrone Township in which a Fenton woman was killed.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Albert is jailed on $400,000 cash bond on one count of second-degree murder, one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, and one county of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious injury.

On Sept. 9, 2022, Albert was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Denton Hill Road when an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Camaro attempted to turn north from Denton Creek Drive in front of it. As a result of the crash, both vehicles left the roadway and required heavy extrication by Fenton City Fire Department.

The driver of the Camaro, a 46-year-old Fenton woman, died at the scene, while her passenger, a 48-year-old Fenton man, was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Albert was transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries, while his passenger, a 37-year-old woman, was treated and released at the scene.
