The Michigan Farm Bureau AgriPac Committee is endorsing Meghan Reckling for state representative in the Aug. 4 primary race for the 47th state House district.
“I grew up on our family farm right here in Livingston County,” Reckling said. “I know firsthand the importance of our small towns and farms. They are the very backbone of our economy.
“Michigan Farm Bureau is our state’s largest farm organization and having Farm Bureau’s Agri-Pac endorsement is a tremendous honor. I take great pride in being called a ‘Friend of Agriculture’ and knowing that I have the support and confidence of our local growers.”
Michigan Farm Bureau’s grassroots endorsement process begins at the local level. Farmers in each of the 65 county Farm Bureaus meet to review races, interview candidates, and make recommendations to the Michigan Farm Bureau’s political action committee, AgriPac. Based on local input, AgriPac makes the final decision as to who will receive the coveted Friend of Agriculture endorsement.
AgriPac-endorsed “Friends of Agriculture” represent qualified candidates who have demonstrated basic beliefs and /or actions consistent with member-developed policy of MFB.
