HOWELL — After an extra year off due to the pandemic and construction at Howell;s baseball field, former Highlanders will take the field Saturday for the 10th alumni baseball game.
The game, which begins at 12:30 p.m., features players from the 1970s on and has proven popular with alumni of a certain age who relish the chance to get out on the field one more time.
This year’s players will play for the first time since permanent facilities, including a press box and restrooms, were built after the 2019 game.
The biannual event is organized by Rich Robinson, who played for Howell in the late 1970s and currently lives in Washington, D.C.
The game’s most valuable player will see his name etched on the Bert Tooley Award, named after a Howell alumnus who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers more than a century ago.
The game will be broadcast on The Livingston Post starting at 12:15 p.m. Click on the link here.
