The Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office, at the direction of Prosecutor Carolyn J. Henry, will be honoring the victims of crime in a one-mile walk and ceremony set to begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Historic Livingston County Courthouse in downtown Howell.

National Crime Victims Rights Week is April 6-12.

In a release, the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office said that the ceremony will acknowledge the bravery of survivors who have come forward to speak up for themselves in seeking justice.

“Let’s do our part during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and thereafter to bring hope to those who are or have been victims of a crime,” the release read. “It takes a village, and together we can provide comfort, safety and assurance for a hopeful future.”

The event has been fully funded by a grant from the National Association of Assistance Administrators, National Crime Victims Rights Week – Community Awareness Project Subgrant.
