The first new development in downtown Fowlerville in years will become reality when the Ville Project — a new, two-story, mixed-use building — gets underway. The 13,500-square-foot project will bring attainable housing to Fowlerville’s downtown, and serve as a catalyst for additional revitalization and economic activity.
The Ville Project, located on Grand River Avenue at Grand Street, will include the construction of a new two-story building. When completed, the mixed-use building will contain eight residential apartments and commercial space on the first floor.
The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $3.7 million, supported by a $1.45 million Michigan Community Revitalization Program performance-based loan. The village of Fowlerville is supporting the project through a 10-year Commercial Rehabilitation Act exemption valued at $451,196.
The apartments — seven two-bedroom units on the second floor and one accessible unit on the first floor — are expected to rent from $844 to $1,378 a month, according to the MEDC.
