In a Shakespearean turn of events on Monday, Wes Nakagiri lost the chairmanship of the Livingston County Board of Commissioners, which voted to replace him with former chair Dave Domas. Nakagiri’s two-year term as chair of the board was one in which culture wars and controversy reigned supreme. From denying U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Lansing, a chance to appear before the county board, to mucking about with COVID-relief funds, to replacing people who had been appointed to serve on various boards with others who subscribe to his extreme political views, Nakagiri approached his position as chair of the county board
