At approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, residents on Farley Road in Putnam Township reported that this small black kitten (above) was thrown from the window of an older burgundy or maroon Chevrolet Impala that was driving past.
The residents, who had been taking their trash to the roadway when the kitten was thrown from the car, began rendering aid as the animal was bleeding and injured, but it ran away.
The kitten later returned to the home of the residents, who contacted Animal Control. The kitten was transported to the Livingston County Animal Shelter, where it was checked by veterinarians and determined to not have any significant injuries.
If you have any information, contact Animal Control Deputy Jodi LeBombard at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, (517) 546-2440.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds animal owners that there are resources available to surrender animals in a humane way.
