Diabetes prevention program begins Nov. 5

Saint Joseph Mercy Health System will host a Diabetes Prevention Program in Howell beginning Nov. 5.

The program will consist of 16 weekly sessions, followed by monthly maintenance sessions. The Diabetes Prevention Program is intended for anyone at risk of type 2 diabetes. It will help educate participants on strategies to become more active, control food intake, lose weight, manage stress, think positively and more.  The program is free, however, registration is required.

The classes run 3:30-4:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m. on 16 Tuesdays, beginning Nov. 5, at First United Methodist Church, 1230 Bower St. in Howell.
